Finding the Right Fit – Why We Measure Our Cycling Jerseys & Jackets
Share
Buying cycling clothing online can be difficult.
Sizing often varies between brands, different manufacturers use different sizing standards, and a medium in one jersey may fit completely differently to a medium in another.
That's why, at The Bicycle Exchange, we go beyond simply listing the manufacturer's size.
For most of the jerseys and jackets in our collection, we physically measure the garment and include those measurements on the product page. This gives you a much clearer understanding of how each item is likely to fit before you buy.
Real Measurements. Better Confidence.
Rather than relying solely on generic sizing charts, we take the time to measure many of our garments ourselves.
Depending on the item, you'll often find measurements such as chest width, body length, sleeve length and other useful dimensions that help you compare the garment with clothing you already own.
It's a simple step that can make a big difference when shopping online.
Why Brand Sizes Aren't Always Consistent
Cycling apparel brands all have their own sizing philosophies.
Some are designed with a race fit that sits close to the body, while others are intended to provide a more relaxed fit for recreational riding or commuting.
Even within the same brand, different collections can fit differently depending on the fabric, cut and intended use.
By providing actual garment measurements wherever possible, we're helping remove much of the guesswork from buying cycling clothing online.
Helping Reduce Returns
Choosing the right size the first time isn't just more convenient—it also helps reduce unnecessary returns and exchanges.
Our goal is to give you as much information as possible so you can order with confidence, whether you're shopping for a lightweight summer jersey, a thermal long-sleeve jersey or a cycling jacket for cooler conditions.
