90-Day Voluntary Mechanical Assurance

Every bike sold by The Bicycle Exchange is quality inspected and tested prior to sale. For extra peace of mind, we provide a 90-Day Voluntary Mechanical Assurance on bikes we sell.
Important: This assurance is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
This voluntary assurance operates alongside, and does not replace, our Warranty & Claims Policy or your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. What This Assurance Covers
For 90 days from the date of purchase, this voluntary assurance covers certain mechanical issues, including:
- Mechanical faults that were present at the time of sale but not reasonably apparent
- Issues that affect the safe operation of the bike
- Problems arising from assembly or adjustment prior to sale
Where applicable, we will assess the issue and, at our discretion, provide a repair, replacement, or refund.
2. What This Assurance Does Not Cover
- Normal wear and tear
- Consumable components reaching the end of their service life
- Cosmetic wear or appearance
- Damage caused by accidents, crashes, misuse, neglect, or unauthorised modifications
- Issues arising from use inconsistent with the bike’s intended purpose
- Problems arising after changes or repairs carried out by third parties
3. How This Relates to Lifetime Free Basic Servicing
Our 90-Day Voluntary Mechanical Assurance is supported by our Lifetime Free Basic Servicing, which helps keep bikes operating safely and smoothly through regular checks and adjustments.
Location: Lifetime Free Basic Servicing is provided at The Bicycle Exchange workshop location only (Williamstown, VIC) and is not redeemable at other outlets or third-party workshops.
4. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this assurance limits or replaces your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. You may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund where goods fail to meet consumer guarantees, including in cases of major failure.
5. How to Make a Claim

- Provide proof of purchase
- Provide a description of the issue (photos help)
We may need to inspect the bike before confirming the appropriate remedy.
Claims under this assurance are assessed in accordance with our Warranty & Claims Policy.
